5.3.5 Calculation and simulation of the high-voltage interference

Objective
AC interference is caused by electromagnetic fields from medium- and high-voltage transmission lines and can lead to dangerous contact potentials or increased corrosion on nearby conductive objects (e.g. pipelines). A technical investigation is required in order to comply with safety limits and derive protective measures.

Risk aspects

  • Corrosion on pipelines caused by induced leakage currents
  • Exceeding touch voltage limits
  • Safety risks during maintenance and operation
