5.2 DEHNplan – BIM-compatible CAD software for lightning protection and earth-termination systems

DEHNplan is a powerful, BIM-compatible 3D CAD application for planning external lightning protection and earthing systems. As an integral part of the DEHNproject platform, the software combines local CAD functionality with cloud-based project management and supports standard-compliant design in accordance with IEC 62305, NFPA 780 and DIN 18014.

The protection areas are calculated automatically using the rolling sphere method and the mesh method and are visualised in three dimensions. The separation distances are determined using nodal analysis and are graphically represented as a volume along the conductor path.
