5.2.4 Determining the earth electrode length as per IEC 62305-3

When planning earthing systems in accordance with IEC 62305-3 or DIN 18014, the required earth electrode length is automatically calculated in the background based on preset parameters. This function is enabled by default, but can be disabled in the general settings if required.
For a correct calculation, the earth resistivity must be specified. This value describes the electrical conductivity of the soil and is a decisive factor for the effectiveness of the earthing system. If no measured value is available, the earth resistivity can either be measured directly on site or estimated using typical table values.
