5.2.7.4 Calculating the variable sealing end for HVI Conductors

HVI (High Voltage Insulated) technology enables safe and flexible routing of down conductors in external lightning protection systems. A key element of this technology is the variable sealing end, which is used at roof level to connect to elevated bare cables.

Principle of the variable sealing end
Unlike conventional connection methods, the sealing end range for HVI Conductors is not determined in advance, but is dynamically dimensioned based on the calculated separation distances. This ensures standard-compliant implementation and prevents impermissible proximity to conductive building components.
